Connection and confidence
Community Participation
Getting out, staying connected, and doing the things that make a week feel like a life rather than a schedule of appointments.
Isolation does real damage — to mood, to cognition, and to physical health. Community participation supports exist to interrupt that, and they are some of the most valuable hours in many NDIS plans.
We start from what you actually enjoy, not from an activities list. Some participants want the surf club on a Friday. Some want a quiet coffee and the library. Some want to get back to a men's shed, a temple, a choir or a beach walk they gave up years ago.
What we support
Social and recreational outings
Cafes, beaches, markets, cinemas, sport, clubs and community events — with the level of support you need to be comfortable.
Transport assistance
Getting to and from where you are going, including support in the vehicle and help with mobility equipment.
Appointments
Attending medical, allied health and NDIS appointments with you, taking notes and making sure the important things get said.
Groups, classes and hobbies
Finding, joining and staying with a group, class or interest — and staying alongside you until it feels comfortable.
Building independence
Practising skills that expand what you can do alone: public transport, shopping, banking, ordering, navigating.
Staying connected
Keeping up with family and friends, including help with video calls, messages and social occasions.
How we approach it
- Activities are chosen by you, and can change whenever you want them to
- Workers are matched on shared interests wherever we can manage it
- Risk is assessed properly so that support enables rather than restricts
- Clinical needs travel with you — medications, equipment and plans come too
- We build towards independence, and are happy to be needed less over time
How this is funded
Community participation is funded from Core Supports — Assistance with Social and Community Participation. Skill-building goals may also draw on Improved Daily Living. Transport funding sits separately again — we will help you work out what your plan actually allows.
